The Launcher application was designed for WINDOWS2000
You can allways grab the latest copy at http://www.gameroffice.com

-:[ CURRENT VERSION V1.5.2 ]:-

-:[ INTRO ]:-

By default, Windows 2000 launch programs with a normal priority state
which causes most games to run slowly. With 'Launcher', you can define a list
of your own programs and define a priority setting for each programs. You can also
tell the system on which CPU that you want your programs to run on.

-:[ INSTALLATION ]:-

- just run the installer, then run Win2000 Launcher from your start menu or your desktop.

-:[ RUNNING THE APPLICATION ]:-

The win2k launcher can be launcher in two ways. The first and easier way is to double click on it.
If this is all that you need to know, proceed the next section which is the configuration.

The second way of launching the app is to use it from the command line.
The syntax of Launcher in command line is simple:

    LAUNCHER [priority] [path] [parameters]

        [priority] : between 1 and 6
        1: Very Slow
        2: Slow
3: Normal (default for Windows NT)
        4: Fast
        5: Very fast
        6: Realtime (Mayhem)

[path] : is the path & name of your application. It is recommended to
put the path and filename between double quotes as shown in the
        example.

[parameters] : If the application you want to launch need some parameters, add them here.

In the following example NOTEPAD.EXE is launcher with a normal priority and the argument 'file.txt' is passed to notepad to indicate that we want to create or open the file 'file.txt' :

        LAUNCHER 3 "c:\winnt\notepad.exe"  file.txt

IMPORTANT: You must supply at least TWO parameters in order to run the LAUNCHER in
command line mode, otherwise you will get an error message and
the user interface will appear.

-:[ CONFIGURATION ]:-

- before you can launch anything, you have to configure your apps or
games.
- click the 'ADD' button, type the name of your application
- click on the BROWSE button and locate the .exe of your application or
game.
- choose the desired priority - click 'SAVE'

you're ready to launch your first application!!

- select your application name from the list
- double click on it, or click the launch button

NOTE:

For the experimented users, you can go into the other tabs, they contain additionnal settings.

-:[ Listening mode (Advanced tuning)]:-

In the advanced tabs (when you configure a program), there is a checkbox to turn on/off the listening mode. When it is turned on, you don't need to run your games from the Win2000 launcher anymore (but Win2000 launcher still need to be loaded, it can be minimized to the system tray), you just run your programs the way you were launching them before and the launcher will automatically detect them and set the defined priority (periodically (which you can change by clicking the Config button)).

If you're playing on Gamespy, MSN Gaming zone, Diablo2, Everquest, this is the ideal setting. Configure your games, then minimize the launcher and start your games via their standard interface.

-:[ NOTE ]:-

If you click on the minimize button in the toolbar, Launcher
will put itself in the system tray (and will only take 700k in
this location). You can reopen it by double clicking the chip-like
icon in the tray or right-clicking on it.
